We realize that we have been here for "The Blizzard of '08", "The Flood of '08", and "The Hurricane Force Winds of '08", and there are still 3 months left of '08!!! All of them have set records. Thought I'd include some pictures of the damage that landed in our back yard. The neighborhood voted that we had the most damage, that makes us "the big winners!?!" The tree that caused the dominoe effect was a live tree, 12" in diameter!!!
They used the eastgate mall (5 minutes away) for the staging area for all of the trucks, parts and equipment to restore power to Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana customers. A record of more than 900,000 homes were affected. We lost our power at 4pm Sunday and it was back on when we woke up the next morning. Many people were without power for over a week.
We were sure glad to have oil lamps (we bought a couple months ago), our solar/crank radios, and a battery powered tv, and cereal for dinner. We came out pretty well, and later in the week, the FM group came out and cleaned up the trees in the back yard. We are so spoiled!

This is "The Theater Ladies" pod for Relief Society. We are enjoying our ice cream at 11pm after we went to see the musical "Show Boat" on a real river boat on the Ohio River. I love these gals, they are so fun!
